Dismantling follows a fixed order, and reassembly runs it backwards: cloth, pockets, rails, bed sections, then frame and legs, each piece wrapped as it comes off. Slate travels upright and strapped. Rails travel padded, because rails are the pieces that show a careless load.
On an upstairs job the pieces get staged before anything goes up. Frame and legs first so there is something to build on, bed sections one at a time with two people on each, rails last. Trying to shortcut that order on a turning stair is how handrails get broken.
What sets the price
What happens at the top of the stairs matters more here than how far the lorry drives.
- Three-section bed or single slab, because the turn at the top of the flight will only forgive one of them.
- The climb at both ends: width at the turn, room on the landing, and the doorway into the room itself.
- Whether anything has to come out of the destination room before the table can go in.
- One visit or two, which is what re-flooring or a spell in storage means in practice.
- Whether new cloth goes on mid-move, which beats paying for a crew to return.
A picture of the table and a picture of the stair turn will get you a tighter number than a paragraph of description.

That is good for 90 days after the service is completed. We are fully insured against any damage that may occur while moving your pool table.
There is no additional charge for stairs on a three piece slate table. We will only move one piece slates up or down stairs under certain conditions and for an additional charge. Disassembling a three piece slate table and taking it out to storage or to your movers is $150. A discount is given when you combine new cloth with another service such as a move or an installation.
